Hello! Today I'll speak about MOOCs.

What is MOOC?
A massive open online course (MOOC) is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web. In addition to traditional course materials, such as filmed lectures, readings, and problem sets, many MOOCs provide interactive courses with user forums or social media discussions to support community interactions among students, professors, and teaching assistants, as well as immediate feedback to quick quizzes and assignments. MOOCs are a widely researched development in distance education, first introduced in 2008, that emerged as a popular mode of learning in 2012.

MOOCs are a huge step in online learning. It's not like online school or just a course. It is open and massive, so anyone can join to learn whatever they like for free. It is a way to connect and collaborate while developing digital skills. It's a way of engaging in a learning process. It's an event, around which people who are interested in the topic gather to discuss it in a structured way.

Nowadays a person can learn everything and everywhere. And MOOC is one of hte ways to doing that. A great number MOOC platforms have been created for people to join and learn. And I'll try to share some of them with you.

Canvas provides the tools to support online learning in a variety of ways. This can range from structured learning pathways to dynamic, interactive virtual classrooms. How a course is presented online depends on the content and complexity of the learning material, and the delivery methodology used by the instructor.
Its mission is: to promote OPENNESS, INNOVATION, and EXPERIMENTATION in education by providing educators access to professional development courses and programs that will help them thrive and succeed in their careers.
